Alnico magnets are composed primarily of aluminum, nickel and cobalt (hence the term al-ni-co) with the addition of iron, copper, and other trace elements. Of the more commonly available magnets, only rare-earth magnets such as neodymium and samarium-cobalt are stronger than Alnico magnets. Alnico is typically produced by casting or sintering processes.

1. By casting process. Casted Alnico magnets have good process ability and lowest temperature coefficient reversible.

2. By sintering process. Sintered Alnico magnets, limited to small cases, own lower permanent but small tolerance.

Alnico alloys have some of the highest Curie points of any magnetic material, around 800 °C, and be widely applied in instruments and other fields.
